4th Echoes of Jihlava IDFF in Brussels

January 28 – 31 & February 4 – 7, 2016

At the turn of January and February, Jihlava IDFF will come to Brussels for the fourth time to present the Echoes of 19th Jihlava IDFF, a representative showcase of documentary films screened at the past year’s festival including a selection of winning films. The event is a collaboration of Jihlava IDFF, the Czech Centre in Brussels and Cinéma Nova, supported by Vysočina Region and City of Jihlava.

The opening ceremony of the international Echoes of Jihlava IDFF in 2016, which will take place in Belgium, France, Norway, Ukraine and Belarus, is held under the auspices of Member of the European Parliament Pavel Poc, European Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality Věra Jourová and Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Belgium Jaroslav Kurfürst. The opening ceremony is supported by Member of the European Parliament Pavel Poc.

The opening ceremony of the international echoes will take place at the European Parliament on Wednesday, January 27, 2016. Director Sean McAllister will personally introduce his film A Syrian Love Story, a melodrama showing the blurred line between responsibility to one’s family and loyalty to the state and to a blood-soaked idea. The screening starts at 6.30 pm.

The following screenings will be held in the course of two following weeks at Cinéma Nova.
