DOCUMENTARY FILM CENTER

The Documentary Film Center will be a new and unique institution for film education in the fields of social and natural sciences. Its multimedia library will offer thousands of Czech and international documentary films catalogued for easy access.

The film collection will be based on the video library of the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival, now including thousands of film titles. The collection will be systematically developed in cooperation with other Czech as well as European institutions so as to cover a whole range of fields by means of contemporary film. Besides film, the Documentary Film Center will also offer Czech and international literature on film and significant Czech and international periodicals dealing with film, new media and visual arts.

The Documentary Film Center will create an active space for the education of students. To the professional public, it will serve as a central point presenting the filmmaking of directors, film schools and regions. The film collection of the Documentary Film Center will include works by remarkable personalities of documentary film as well as the film production of Central and Eastern European countries.
