Interconnecting the film professionals from Visegrad Countries
The new Visegrad Accelerator project is aimed to interconnect professionals from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland attending Jihlava IDFF. The Visegrad Accelerator opens the possibility to establish a creative Visegrad platform initiating and expanding various film activities through meetings of film professionals, critics and festival representatives from the Central European countries.
Apart from panel discussions about the current state of cinematography in each individual state of the V4 group and many other activities, Visegrad Accelerator introduced a meeting of general directors of V4 public TV broadcasters. The meeting was followed by panel discussion on such topics as legislation and development of laws and regulations, long term development plans and financing, and possibilities of co-operation and common projects.
Visegrad Accelerator was established with the support of the International Visegrad Fund, and is supported by Czech Film Chamber / MEDIA Desk Czech Republic, Film New Europe, Hungarian Film Union and Slovak Film Institute.

Future of Public TV Broadcasters in Central Europe
Exclusive Discussion With General Directors of V4 Public Broadcasters Televisions
Especially national public broadcasters are traditionally very important and often key partners for documentary filmmakers in Central Europe. To reflect their crucial part in the process of developing and producing creative documentaries, Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival 2012 introduced special meeting of the directors of Visegrad countries’ public television broadcasters.
The meeting was held as a part of Visegrad Accelerator industry programme section, and was attended by Petr Dvořák, General Director of Czech TV, Václav Mika, General Director of Radio and Television of Slovakia, Juliusz Braun, General Director of Polish Television, and László Zsolt Szabó, Deputy Director General of Hungarian Television. The meeting was followed by public panel discussion which further expanded the discussed topics.
Topics of their discussion were:
1. Legislation and development of laws and regulations, including potential co-operation
2. Long term development plans (development of public service) and financing
3. Possibilities of mutual cooperation and common projects
Introduction of Creative Groups – New Concept of Czech Television
CZECH TV PRESENTS
Czech Television has always been a key partner of creative documentary film in the Czech Republic, providing development and production support, technical facilities and distribution assistance.
With its system based on creative group structure, Czech TV is able to rely on vision of strong, experienced personalities, promoting their vision in specific segments of audiovisual production. Creative groups are led by Creative Producers nominated by Czech TV General Manager, and their system is based on variable structure of production teams. Therefore, these creative groups are not permanently set departments but an flexible team set up by each Creative Producer for every individual project specifically.
This system allows the Czech Television to stay in closest direct contact possible with the diverse creative community, to identify and support extraordinary projects and exceptionally talented authors in their respective fields of audiovisual production.
