EAST SILVER 2012 / CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Submit your film to the largest internationally recognized database of creative feature and television documentary films from Central and Eastern Europe.

The 9th edition of the East Silver Market will take place at the 16th Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival in October 23 – 28, 2012, Jihlava, Czech Republic. East Silver Market is organized by the Institute of Documentary Film; the main partner of the project is Jihlava IDFF.

This call is open for completed documentaries from Central and Eastern Europe produced after January 1, 2011, that were not previously submitted to East Silver market.

Submission is also valid for the 16th Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival programme pre-selection as well as for Doc Alliance Films VoD pre-selection.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS JULY 31, 2012.

We aim to broaden the chances for TV broadcast of documentary films from our region. Obtaining substantial knowledge about broadcaster’s slots and also current programming needs, we individually select and recommend particular documentaries directly to the international TV buyers and networks.

East Silver Caravan promotes East European documentary films at important international film festivals and markets. Our nomad showcase of Eastern European documentary selection reaches over 90 prestigious international film festivals and markets.  

Silver Eye Award 2012
Picking the nominees from 2012 East Silver Market submissions, East Silver international jury (comprising of international buyers, sales agents and festival selectors) awards the best documentaries with Silver Eye Award. The total of 33 films competes in 3 main categories (feature, mid-length and short documentary). All winners are granted with prize money of EUR 1 500 and year round festival support within the East Silver Caravan.
